‘Vermen’
Excerpt from a screenplay
......When they get back, Max is finally left alone. So he explores the house. He walks in the kitchen and the living room. He admires how nice the space is, and ponders what he is doing there.
He makes his way to the main room right off the kitchen. The master bedroom bed made up to perfection. He wondered who was staying in this room and if everyone here were guests. As he looks around he Stubs his toe on something on the floor. A piece of floor sticking up under a carpet which seemed to be a frame to a door. Max lifts up the carpet and realizes this is a huge door leading under the house. He moves aside the furniture blocking the hatch and trys to open the door. Finally, gets the door open. As soon as he opens the door, he hears something-it sounds like crying coming from downstairs. Max walks slowly down the stairs and hears and man’s voice. Sounding like he was on his deathbed, his voice was shaky and pleading for whoever was there not to hurt him anymore. As he was pleading, max found the source of the begging. A shell of a man, who looked like he was being starved and beaten. He was shaking and flinching at Max.
Max: Oh my god, who are you?
Sonny: who are you??
Max: my names max I’m gonna get u out of here
